arsenal trio
Arsenal Trio was born when cellist Hrant Parsamian wanted to play with violinist Benjamin Sung and pianist Jihye Chang at his final fellowship recital in Montgomery, playing 3 Tangos by Piazzola. In just a short time, the Arsenal Trio has covered considerable ground both musically and geographically. Performances from New York City to Louisville to Montgomery have delighted audiences with repertoire ranging from Mozart and Schubert to world premieres for piano trio. The Arsenal Trio made its debut at the 2006 University of Louisville New Music Festival with a recital of six world premiere compositions, and will return to the same school of music for recording and performing of composer Marc Satterwhite’s music. The Trio recently appeared at the ClefWorks Music Festival in August 2007, where they performed the winner of the ClefWorks Composition Competition, Ask the Wind by Michael Todd Barnett.
As Jihye became the second honorary fellow in the Montomgery Symphony Orchestra’s s history, the Arsenal Trio consists of three past fellows of MSO!
